The pendulum magic
Ding-dong! Ding-dong! - Rings the bell. The pendulum swings to and fro as the clock chimes 12 times. And you come to know the time is 12 O’clock. It’s so easy to keep a track of time. And you will find a clock in every household. Now a question- are you familiar with the name of Christiaan Huygens? No? He invented the Pendulum Clock in 1656.He was a Dutch astronomer, mathematician, and physicist. Huygens also studied the relationship between length and period of a Pendulum. He proved that if the length of the pendulum increases then the time taken for one oscillation also increases. His work in this area helped the later scientists to improve upon the models of mechanical clock. Thanks to Huygens we have a reliable method of telling the time. These days we have hi-tech, multipurpose clocks. But remember, it all started with a small effort.
